Harsham

In Kadampuzha, OMAD Architects builds from brick, wood, and the shifting geometry of afternoon light - a house that earns its name through craft, not declaration. Harsham Residence, completed in 2026, is a 2,950-square-foot private residence that puts comfort and restraint ahead of excess. Its defining element is the diagonal brick screen: a wall of bricks set at forty-five degrees, creating a diamond lattice of voids through which light tracks the day.

Inside, each material is present as itself, with no apology: unrendered brick, rubble stone, Athangudi tiles underfoot, and timber slat screens. The verandah - a covered, shaded space between house and garden - is clearly the social heart of the building.

What distinguishes Harsham’s photographic record is the density of human presence: portraits of a house being lived in.
